Palestine and Israel - the key issue now?

It is widely agreed that the key to middle east peace lies in the solution of the Israel - Palestine problem. This page links to organisations that have useful information, particularly those building understanding and mutual respect of the people in Palestine and Israel. Only the co-operative, non-violent  resolution of the conflict can satisfy the needs of all for justice, identity and security.

Americans for Peace Now 
A leading United States advocate for peace in the Middle East. It has a summary of the "Geneva Accord", and also is promoting a peace resolution to US Congress
Australians for Justice and Peace in Palestine 
Supports the International Solidarity Movement (ISM) 
Brit Tzedek v'Shalom 
Jewish Alliance for Justice and Peace, an organization of American Jews committed to Israel's well-being through the achievement of a negotiated settlement to the long-standing Israeli-Palestinian conflict. 
Building blocks for peace in the Middle East

Christian Zionism - Jerusalem Declaration - 31 August 2006 
Statement from Patriarch and local heads of churches in Jerusalem: "We categorically reject Christian Zionist doctrines as false teaching that corrupts the biblical message of love, justice and reconciliation.
Coalition for Justice and Peace in Palestine 
Canadian group. 
Coalition of Women for Peace 
Jewish and Palestinian women's organisations promoting justice and peace. 
Covenant of Omar
Moslem conqueror (~ 638 AD) of Jerusalem, promising peace and protection for Christians and holy places. 
Electronic Intifada 
A news portal on the Israel/Palestine problem, linked with veteran antiwar campaigners Voices in the Wilderness. 
End the Occupation of Palestine - A U.S. Campaign to end the Israeli occupation 
A diverse coalition working for freedom from occupation and equal rights for all by challenging US policy towards the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The Campaign is based on human rights and international law. 
Free Arab Voice 
An independent political newsletter that comes out only in cyberspace once every few weeks. The Free Arab Voice is critical, analytical, unconventional, and is run completely by volunteers. Its "Iraqi Resistance Reports" are most informative. 
Geneva Accord or "Switzerland Understandings" 
These are understandings reached between an Israeli team led by Yossi Beilin and a Palestinian team lead by Yasser Abed Rabo. They provide a way forward.

A basic site for information about the Israel/Palestine problem and about Israelis and Palestinians working together to solve it.

Israel lobby in the U.S.  -

Ariga is a 12-year-old wide ranging blog, with particular emphasis on peace and much useful information. 
Jewish Voice for Peace 
A US-based news organisation on Palestine. 
Jews opposing Zionism 
This and other web sites lay out the authentic Jewish position, based on the Torah and Prophets and Sages, concerning Palestine . Jews are not Zionists. Orthodox Jews united against Zionism
Middle East Research and Information Project 
Publishes a wide ranging report on Middle East issues.
MIFTAH 
The Palestinian Initiative for the Promotion of Global Dialogue & Democracy. A Basic site. 
It also provides a copy of the Geneva Accord
New Israel 
The New Israel wants Palestine and Israel to use their minds and strength for a better purpose than conflict. TNI prefers love and brotherhood - refusing to participate in murder, destruction and hate. MALACHI 2:10 
One State Declaration 
Proposal for one state, not two, as a resolution of the Palestine/Israel problems. Statement issued by participants in the July 2007 Madrid meeting on a one-state solution and the November 2007 London Conference. 
One Voice 
A global undertaking to amplify the voices of moderates and to empower Palestinians and Israelis at the grass-roots level to seize back the agenda away from violent extremists.
Palestine Calendar of events 
A project to help keep significant dates of the Palestinian issue alive in the world's mind. 
Palestinian Centre for Human Rights 
PCHR is an independent legal body based in Gaza City dedicated to protecting human rights, promoting the rule of law and upholding democratic principles in the Occupied Palestinian Territory. It has a good range of information, resources and reports.

A talk given by Emeritus Professor Peter Boyce (University of Tasmania School of Government) in 2002. The three underlying issues for resolution are (1) the external boundaries of Israeli and Palestinian territories (and how these boundaries would ensure Israel’s security), (2) the fate of Palestinian refugees in neighbouring Arab states, and (3) the status of Jerusalem.

Road Map for Israel-Palestine  -  developed by the USA

Wall of separation 
This is a map of where the wall is being built by Israel on Palestinian land. 
You can sign a "Stop the Wall" petition.

Washington Report on Middle East Affairs 
the Washington Report supports Middle East solutions which it judges to be consistent with the charter of the United Nations and traditional American support for human rights, self-determination, and fair play.
World Council of Churches 
Presents a Christian perspective and has an active campaign to end the illegal occupation of Palestine.
