They also have been effective in their use of electronic media to influence national and world political events. Avaaz - effective global action. It is the successor to the US "MoveOn".

The name means "Voice" or "Song" in several languages . Avaaz is a community of global citizens who take action on the major issues facing the world today. Using the latest technology, Avaaz.org empowers ordinary people from every corner of the globe to directly contact key global decision-makers, corporations and the media. Get Up! in Australia 

Brings together like-minded people who want to bring participation back into our democracy. GetUp members use the latest online tools to act on the most important issues facing the country. GetUp has conducted a number of effective campaigns that give an effective non-party voice to Australians on national issues. Join its mailing list with the "Get Updates" option on the home page.

GlobalRising 

"So what can I do?" This website seeks to answer that question by putting you in touch with local organisations. The organisations listed work towards global justice in: global democracy, global finance, trade or general global co-ordination. All need voluntary help. With your involvement, another world ceases to be possible, it becomes inevitable.
