(1) What Women Want (Australia) believe that we need to make a stand to begin to address the issue of violence at both national and international level, these issues can not be seen to be overwhelming or too hard, we need to act now
(2) The removal of nuclear weapons can only have a positive effect on world peace and I support it fully.
(3) WWW (Australia) believe that we should be assisting the citizens of Iraq by providing humanitarian support.
(4) WWW (Australia) believe that we should be providing support in the form of humanitarian assistance.
(5) WWW (Australia) fully support this measure to assist in peaceful intervention of conflict situations.

(1) Acts like these breed fear and spread the wrong message
(2) I believe it can be done quicker.
(3) The Australian people have wanted this for along time.
(4) Our Occupation does not represent Australia's views.
(5) Our defence services need all the forms of support they are currently recieving, it is imperative for their safety.

1. [The ALP is looking to a statement] ... that unequivocally supports international efforts to ban cluster munitions ....  [See the ALP detailed response document.]
2. Labor is committed to working towards an eventual Nuclear Weapons Convention ... [See the ALP detailed response document.]
3. Labor will withdraw our troops from Iraq in consultation with our allies and the Iraqi government. [See the ALP detailed response document.]
4. Labor’s involvement in Afghanistan is consistent with our primary concern for Australia’s national security, our responsibilities as a good international citizen and our respect for international law. [See the ALP detailed response document.]
5. Labor believes that non-violent conflict resolution processes is normally a Foreign Affairs portfolio responsibility, and as such is funded accordingly. There are specific occasions where funding should be provided by both Defence and Foreign Affairs, or from other departments to satisfy a particular requirement. Setting an arbitrary figure is not warranted.

[These are representative, brief quotations from the Coalition's detailed response document.]
1. The Coalition continues to support a ban on cluster munitions that cause unacceptable harm to civilians.
2. We consider that the Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty remains the right vehicle for the pursuit of nuclear disarmament.
3. The Coalition does not believe that now, when measurable, undeniable progress is being made, is the time to abandon the Iraqi people.
4. ISAF's work in Afghanistan is vital to helping the democratically elected government of Afghanistan ensure a safe and secure environment that will be conducive to consolidating democratic structures.
5. The Coalition is committed to appropriately funding the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and to vigorously supporting international institutions including the United Nations, to pursue peaceful conflict resolution.
